Where has this half term gone? It seems like ages ago that the children finished for the Christmas holidays but it has only been a few days. I have been looking forward to the break as much as they have, so much so, that I shut the webshop just to make sure I had a proper break π I have noticed quite a few of the small food business people I follow on social media are closing during the holidays so I have followed suit. π
All I can say is that I am or rather we are enjoying the peace and quiet β just chilling, sitting around in their pyjamas and eating lovely foods whilst entertaining themselves with the Christmas presents is definitely a warm and lovely feeling to enjoy. π In fact, this morning I took a photo of my lovely candle (a family heirloom) whilst the children were still in bed and my husband had just walked out the door to go to work π This one photo sums up my feelings today of calmness). I wish I could share this feeling with others who I know are struggling at this time of year for various reasons. Life is just not fair π

Although I am taking a well deserved break the home baking machine inside of me doesnβt really take a break. I baked some yummy treats with my children on Christmas Eve which we are tucking into as I write. We baked some Sweet Mincemeat Pies as I love them with brandy butter and a Yule Log (for the children to enjoy). All made by my children.

Also, for breakfast today we had Cinnamon and Honey Croissants which I toasted in the frying pan.(No photo sorry as we ate them too quickly). These were a deliciously festive treat π The cinnamon and honey topping melted and crisped onto the top of the croissant. MMMmmm!!
I have no plans to bake anything for the weekend as we are busy doing other things like visiting relatives so I am going to spend some time planning for the year ahead as there is sooo much out there to bake donβt you think? π Right Iβm off to have a cuppa and start work on some new ideas for 2020!!
